I worked as a veterinarian for many years and have a few very simple pieces of advice if your animal has any illness.
Make sure the food quality is high. If you are feeding your animal kibble then you are likely feeding dead food without enzymes and packed with chemicals.
Look for natural live foods or make your own. Cats are carnivores and do really well on raw meat. A variety is always best. Their eyes brighten, their coats shine and I have witnessed the disappearance of diabetes and other such ailments. Dogs need a varied diet but again of high quality. If in doubt make your own but just like us the closer to nature the better and AVOID chemicals and preservatives.
If you do decide to vaccinate DO NOT do it annually. The most unhealthy dogs I have ever seen were vaccinated yearly. Vaccinosis is a real problem and just means illness from over vaccination and is recognized in the Veterinary world.
You DO NOT need monthly spot ons for fleas and ticks. Have you noticed any ticks or fleas on your animals? If yes only then treat your animal. I have always used natural products. There are online websites that can advise. They take a little more work but it’s worth it for a healthy animal.
Remember that your animal has needs. If they are the sole animal they may feel alone, they need walks, they need to express themselves, enjoy new smells and require exercise and love. Observe your animal. Be quiet with them, notice what their needs are.
This is by far the best one for me. Connect with your animal. Enjoy the eye contact, the petting, knowing each others habits. An animal bond for
me has always been one of the highest forms of love. Imagine, they greet you every day with such excitement and enthusiasm. They have a lot to teach us.
ENJOY
